"You are invited to come home to y o u r s e l f.
To your radiance. Your ritual. Your courage. Your clarity.
Y o u r p o w e r. Y o u r p u r p o s e.
Your strength. Your softness. Your adaptability. Your acceptance.
Your endurance. Your excellence."
- Elena Brower
I've been an earnest student and teacher of yoga for the better part of the last decade. In 2012, I was midway through my first yoga teacher training in vinyasa-style yoga when I sprained my hip in class. That injury was the catalyst that would change the course of my practice for good.
In 2013, I began teaching full-time while simultaneously completing an advanced yoga teacher certification in Hatha yoga at Yoga Mechanics. I will always be grateful for my premier training and introduction to vinyasa-style yoga, however, my 500 Hour YTT became the tradition that my practice and teaching are rooted in.
Since then, I've been teaching both Hatha and vinyasa-style yoga in studios, at home for private sessions, at festivals, and corporate offices. I've also been fortunate enough to assist a yoga teacher training. From 2017-2018, I completed a 95 hour training to teach children and teens of all abilities, including those with special needs. For nearly two years, I taught yoga and mindfulness in schools with Core Yoga for Youth, and helped develop, implement, and instruct a comprehensive curriculum of yoga and mindfulness for students, teachers, and parents.
My yoga class + schedule
In my classes, you can expect an energizing and grounding practice that will teach you about how your body works. I'm passionate about integrating biomechanics, alignment, and mindfulness techniques into every class, and make sure it is a thoughtful sequence that offers a fun challenge for every body. Moreover, I design each yoga class to have elements of play, strength-building, restoration, and connection.
I am also available for private and group sessions upon request.
Years of studying, practicing and teaching yoga has dramatically changed my experience of the winter season and as a result, I’ve seen a huge improvement in the health of my body-mind.
The longer I continue on this journey of self-care and holistic living the more I see that it is simply a practice of attuning and attending — taking care of what is yours. I believe this encapsulates physical, mental and emotional health because who else in the world has as much knowledge, experience, and understanding of your body, heart, and mind than you?
I created the Yogi's Guide to Winter Wellness with the help of scientific and medical experts in tandem with wisdom from the yoga traditions.
